Writing

My bread and butter—reported features and cultural criticism, personal essays and longer-form projects, writing has always been at the center of what I do. Here are a few things I've put into words.

  • Dear queers: An ode to the LGBTQ+ community that built me

  • ‘Tippi & Barb’ documentary offers LGBTQ+ hope amidst workplace discrimination and DEI rollbacks

  • Perrion Hurd reflects and inspires children with latest art opening, ‘Innocence Unveiled’

  • Between Eras: How Taylor Swift’s Work Lives On Without Her

  • From Amateur Golfer to author: Lisa Cornwell is the role model we need in male-dominated fields

  • One Hand has No Sound, but Two Hands Make a Noise

  • Lucky Cat Arcade opens Arkansas’ first dedicated pachinko parlor

  • Empowering Arkansas: The charge of JT Franklin’s vision in the lithium era

Dear Reader

Dear Reader: An Immersive Literary Journey Through Taylor Swift’s Lyrics (Watkins, 2025)

What started as an interest in the storytelling behind Taylor Swift's music became Dear Reader, a published exploration of the literary references, cultural influences, and narratives woven throughout her lyrics.

Part literary analysis and part celebration of storytelling, the book brings together two things I've always loved: writing and finding meaning in the art we connect with.
